Character
DV6ATED4/DV6TED4 1.6 HDi 16v
"First-generation 16-valve 1.6 HDi (also Ford 1.6 TDCi, Volvo D4164T, Mini One D). Carbon in the oil blocks the turbo feed pipe and pickup strainer and kills the turbo — even dealer-serviced engines have done it twice. Leaking injector seals start the chain. Buy only with proof of short oil intervals and a turbo done with new feed pipes."
TU3 1.4
"15 million TU engines made. Simple cast iron block. Timing belt (not chain). Head gasket can fail on very old units. Incredibly cheap to maintain. 206/207/C3 workhorse. Over-engineered for what it does."
