Character
2.2 TDCi Duratorq Puma (ZSD-422)
"Ford's own 2.2 diesel with a timing chain, used in the Transit and Transit Custom, the Ranger T6, the Mondeo Mk3 2.2 TDCi and the Peugeot Boxer / Citroen Jumper. Tough and simple, but 2006-2010 engines had troublesome Delphi injectors, the Ranger's variable oil pump and EGR cooler can wreck the engine if ignored, and the DPF dilutes the oil on short runs. Check the coolant level and service history."
Duratec 2.0
"Focus/Mondeo/Mazda3 shared. Mazda MZR co-developed. Simple, proven, nearly bulletproof. 300k+ km. The reliable Ford."
