Character
FireFly 1.0 Hybrid (N3 BSG)
"Naturally aspirated 6-valve FireFly three-cylinder with a timing chain and a 12 V belt starter-generator (BSG) mild-hybrid system, used in the Fiat Panda, Fiat 500 and Lancia Ypsilon Hybrid. Mechanically simple and so far robust; the known faults are in the hybrid electrics - a weak 12 V or auxiliary battery switches off the hybrid and stop-start functions. Too young for long-term mileage evidence."
1.4 T-Jet
"Port-injected FIRE-based turbo four with a timing belt - simpler than MultiAir and LPG-friendly. The IHI turbo housing can crack at the wastegate (180 hp Garrett versions are spared); watch coolant level and oil use. Belt every 120,000 km."
