2. Service Description

EngineScope is a free engine reliability information service. We compile and present data about automotive engine reliability, including reliability scores, known issues, repair cost estimates, and mileage risk zones.

The service also includes a VIN decoder tool that identifies vehicle manufacturer, country of origin, and model year from a Vehicle Identification Number.

All content is provided free of charge. No registration or account creation is required.

3. Nature of Content

All reliability scores, verdicts, issue descriptions, and cost estimates published on EngineScope are editorial opinions based on aggregated statistical data from publicly available sources.

Our content is NOT:

  • Professional automotive advice
  • A substitute for a professional vehicle inspection
  • A guarantee of any individual engine's condition or performance
  • A recommendation to buy or avoid any specific vehicle

4. No Warranty

The information on EngineScope is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Accuracy or completeness of data
  • Fitness for a particular purpose

While we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, engine reliability data is inherently complex and evolving. Individual engines may perform differently from statistical averages.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of EngineScope and its operators for any claims arising from or related to the use of this website shall not exceed EUR 100.

This limitation does not apply to liability arising from gross negligence (bareia amelia) or intentional misconduct (dolos) within the meaning of Articles 330 and 332 of the Greek Civil Code.

EngineScope shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from the use of or inability to use this service.

6. Intellectual Property

All original content on EngineScope, including but not limited to text, scores, verdicts, editorial commentary, page designs, and the EngineScope name and logo, is protected by copyright and intellectual property law.

The underlying engine data is compiled from publicly available sources including manufacturer technical service bulletins, recall databases, automotive forums, specialist media, and warranty claim statistics. The compilation, analysis, scoring methodology, and editorial presentation are proprietary to EngineScope.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from EngineScope content without prior written permission.

7. User Obligations

By using this website, you agree to:

  • Use the service only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content beyond normal browsing
  • Not misrepresent EngineScope content as professional automotive advice
  • Not use the service to defame, harass, or harm others
